No, I’m not in talking about that wonderful time of the year…
I’m talking about PUMPKIN TIME OF THE YEAR!
Like my love of mason jars, my love of pumpkin is a bit much. Like to the brink of embarrassing. For others, not for me.
Obviously.
From September – November, everyone within a five-feet radius of me has to deal with me referring every sort of cooked meal, baked good or store-bought purchase to pumpkin. And thanks to this little blog, my pumpkin influence can stretch across state – and possibly country – lines. Muahahaha.
For these three sweet little autumn months, my life will revolve around pumpkin coffee, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin cake, pumpkin soup, pumpkin butter, pumpkin bread, pumpkin granola, pumpkin smoothies, pumpkin yogurt, pumpkin bagels, pumpkin beer…and so on and so forth for as long as I can get my hands on every pumpkin product out there.
Including even more canned pumpkin, which is the base behind nearly every pumpkin recipe. See, I sort of suffer from post-traumatic pumpkin shortage disorder (yes that is a real thing) from the severe pumpkin drought that hit the world in 2009, and I have never fully recovered. Especially because of a random store clerk that told me last August (I was on the pumpkin prowl early and couldn’t believe there was none on the shelves yet) that there “probably was another bad crop.” Leading me to buy every.single.can. of pumpkin I saw from then on out – until I realized that ginormous displays of Libby’s in every grocery store I walked into probablyyyyy meant there was no shortage.
I’m a bit slow on the uptake sometimes. But least I am fully stocked on pumpkin for the next five-seven years. Okay, maybe ten. Especially since I STILL cannot stop myself from picking up a can or two every time I go grocery shopping. You never know when another shortage will hit!
Plus, I fully plan on making a big dent in my ridiculous stash soon, because I am totally going to make all the following recipes this season. And by this season I mean every day of my life. Because in my head (and cupboards), it is always pumpkin season.

I was thinking about you the other day when I heard a Dunkin’ pumpkin k-cup commercial on the radio. I thought “Oh Anne Marie must be in her glory – It’s pumpkin time again!”. I’m a totally pumpkin lover too, but I’ve got nothing on you AM!!! I can’t wait to hear about the recipes you try. I think I’ll try the pumpkin cornbread – two of my favorite things in one!

Penny!! So great to hear from you! And yes, I am in my absolute glory…and am on a serious Dunkin Pumpkin streak. I think I’ve had one every day for the past three weeks! The pumpkin cornbread and (possibly pumpkin chili to dunk it) is on my list for this weekend! Nothing could be better on a cool fall day. Wish I could bring some into class. :)

Thanks Christina! It was so hard to choose just two recipes from your blog, as I see we are of the same (pump)kin when it comes to that big orange gourd. I plan on making your pumpkin roll for Thanksgiving! And maybe one to you know, “test out” a few weeks before…
